A Company Secretary is
a qualified professional to render services in company law, company secretarial practice, corporate governance, administration,
management etc., A qualified Company Secretary in India is required to be Member of the Institute of Company Secretary of
India [ICSI] - a statutory professional body. In order to become a Member of ICSI - a person shall pass the examinations conducted
by the ICSI and meet the training requirements to chart a course through regulation, legislation & best practice, and
to deliver effective operations as a Professional. A qualified Company Secretary may join as an employee of a Company registered
in India as per Companies Act 1956 or render services as a Practising Company Secretary to several Companies as per provisions
of Company Secretaries Act 1980. Company Secretary ensures that the Registered Companies in India meet all legal requirements
under various Corporate Laws. It has therefore become an essential requirement to the Corporate sector in India to engage
the services of someone who is qualified as a Company Secretary. I am presently a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company
Secretaries of India.

I have commenced
my career in Andhra Bank, a public sector Bank in Andhra Pradesh, India in 1981. I have become qualified Company Secretary
in 1985 after an initial training with Ashok Leyland Limited, Chennai, India followed by mandatory training in the same city
with the Government of India Office of Registrar of Companies. I have worked with a gaint Public Sector undertaking Hindustan
Newsprint Limited as Assistant Company Secretary for two years before my joining Andhra Pradesh Tanneries Limited in Vizianagaram,
Andhra Pradesh, India in 1987 as Administration Manager -cum Company Secretary. After a stinct of three years, I have worked
for five years [1991-95] for GVK Hotels Limited [Owners of 5 star Hotel -The Krishna Oberoi] in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
I have subsequently served as Vice-President & Company Secretary for a brief period in Pantex Zeebe Fluids Limited. I
have setup my practice as Company Secretary in 1995.
